Divemaster​

Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Your PADI Instructor will become your mentor and guide through your development to a PADI Divemaster. The program will expand your diving knowledge, problem solving skills and hone your scuba skills to demonstration level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise diving activities and assist instructors with student divers.

About Buddies

Buddies is a family run dive centre owned by Martin & Karen since 2009. The centre in the heart of Bugibba, on the north west of Malta. Martin the Course Director is in charge of the training and day to day running of the centre. Our team of hugely experienced instructors have built a reputation for excellent training and service, whilst never forgetting that diving is supposed to be fun!

What does the course involve?

The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through knowledge development sessions, waterskills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities. Topics and practical workshops include:

• The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster
• Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers
• Diver safety and risk management
• Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills
• Business of diving and your career
• Awareness of the dive environment
• Dive setup and management
• Mapping an open water site
• Conducting dive briefings
• Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive
• Conducting a scuba review and skin diver course
• Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs
